Humility might not sound glamorous. But I’ve seen over and over again that it’s the quiet

superpower of modern leaders.

Early in my career, I worked advised a political campaign in Alaska where our team fell short of a client’s expectations. It was a tense moment. My boss at the time could have deflected blame. Instead, he listened, acknowledged the mistake, apologized—and never threw me under the bus. His humility didn’t make him weaker in that moment. It made him stronger. That’s what humility in leadership looks like. It’s not about having all the answers—it’s about creating space for others to bring solutions. It’s the willingness to admit mistakes, to let others shine, and to stay curious even after you’ve achieved success.

Humility builds trust. It fuels collaboration. And it allows leaders to continually evolve. In

today’s world, where challenges are increasingly complex, humility is not optional. It’s essential.
